My second novel.
The first one was serious and philosophical, so for my second, I wrote something funny. I love reading humor, and I love writing it, too. I thought this book was boffo, and the letters I received from readers indicated that they thought so, too. Alas, the people who wrote the letters seem to have been the only people who bought the book. But I giggled a lot while writing it, and that counts for something. I wanted to call the book Soul of a Con, which is actually an excruciatingly clever pun and reflects the book's genesis in Mission Control at NASA in Houston during the Apollo 15 mission, but I won't ruin the joke by explaining it to you. Just take my word for it: It's really clever. The cover has very little to do with the story. I wanted the cover to be more accurate. I wanted it to depict a parody of Christ's crucifixion. Pocket Books chickened out. Oh, and the girls were supposed to be naked. And firmer. Ordering the BookAt this point, you can only find it in used bookstores. There might be a reissue. I'm working on it. |
